The indicator expresses the number of protected buildings present in a district out of the total number of buildings in the same district.
Protected buildings include all immovable property classified or registered on the safeguard list. This registration is in a way equivalent to classification, but without any financial intervention being foreseen by the public authorities. These protection measures constitute official recognition of the heritage, aesthetic and/or historical value of a property and demonstrate the value of its conservation.
